Who I am

I hate this question - not because I don’t know what to say, but because, personally, I’m un-interesting. I am not a professional photographer, nor am I race car driver. As much as I would love to say that those career paths have brought me here - unfortunately, it’s quite the opposite.

Growing up, and still to this day, the sport of Australian Rules Football dictated my life. I won’t bore you with the specifics or my accolades, as quite frankly, there are none worth mentioning. However, the sport, and the time and dedication I put into it, shaped who I am today.

From a career perspective, I was a teacher for five years, specialising in Middle and Secondary education. After quitting what was thought to be my “dream job” of educating the youth of the world, I quickly found myself in a rut. I had been a teacher for a mere five years, and the burnout hit me quick. Like, really quick. It was the hardest thing to do at that point in my life. Letting go of something I was passionate about, but also something that I dreaded to do each day.

At the time of writing, I currently work in an administrative role (that’s all the information that you need to know for now), and enjoy the daily work. I work from home three days a week, and the flexibility of my role helps me immensely.

Now, I want to do something for myself, something that I have full control and direction over. I want to make mistakes without fear of the powers above me, and I want to learn from those mistakes and use them to fuel what comes next. I don’t know how to run a business, or have the funds to open one, but what I do have is a camera, and a computer. That to me, is more than enough to start with, and hopefully build upon from there.
